---
The evening passes by, the apartment calm and still. When morning comes, Akamu awakens with a long yawn and stretches out his legs, arms and tail when he stands. Putting on his jeans and jacket, he makes his way into the living room, overlooking Adrian sleeping on the couch again. He opens the door and takes out the piece of mita meat he was going to prepare last night and a bottle of water.

Just after he shuts the door, his grip fails him and the glass bottle falls to the floor. With a loud CLINK! it tumbles and soon settles on the floor before it rolls under the fridge. He stares blankly for a moment and looks to Adrian, who simply mumbles in his sleep, before expelling a deep sigh. He crouches down and reaches for the bottle, but freezes when his hand brushes something with hair and skin.

---
Gib had woken up now and then throughout the night, by instinct, so when he heard that loud clink, he jolted and looked around in a panic. His eyes seemed very heavy and like they were about to close at any moment, but he shoved the thought aside when he had that bottle roll close to him. Whoever was out there was a clutz, he hissed internally. However, all thought of sleep went away when he felt something touching his head. Not even using his goblin claws, he simply used his normal claws as he let out a shout of surprise and then sliced his sharp nails into the fingers to be unhanded. Sure, it wouldn't go in deep, but it would definitely leave a mark and cause a sting.

---
Akamu's eyes widen when he hears a muffled shout, but as soon as his hand is pricked, he yelps and retracts his hand, bumping it against the bottom of the fridge. Adrian wakes up quickly, looking over to the red wolf, who glances at the scratches on his fingers.

"What the-!?" Akamu grits his teeth as the thin layer of blood trickles a little down his skin.

"What happened?" The green-haired Demanian stands up, his ears up and his senses alert.

"Something scratched me!" Adrian raises a brow and walks over to Akamu, leering to the the bottom of the refridgerator. While it seems he will look at Akamu's hand, the fox falls to the floor and reaches under the fridge, swiftly grabbing whatever it may be underneath. When it feels like he has something, he drags his hand out and glares at the goblin elf in his grasp.

"Think we have a rat, Akamu."

---
Gib was about to run further back down there, yet the darn bottle blocked his way just as he felt a tight grip and then was pulled out. He was about to go into a more fearful mode, but then when he got that glare and a bit of that goblin stubbornness slipping in, he growled as his hand and foot claws tried to dig into the inside of Adrian's hand. His tail twitched sporadically and he tried to pull himself out as he was trying to think quickly of what to do.

---
Not wanting to kill him, Adrian keeps enough pressure to simply hold him in place.  He feels the petite person scratch his hands, but even with the stinging sensation, he will not let go.

Akamu stands and takes a look at Gib, astonished that this is the yellow-eyed creature he saw last night. He looks closely and notices his eyes weren’t as dreadful as he thought of them last night. Still, what was he doing in their apartment and why was he so small?

"I'm not fond of intruders in my home," Adrian says, his green eyes shining with resentment. "But what really pisses me off are those that try to spy on me and my friends. So if you can speak, you'd better do it now."

---
Eventually, the fatigue of little rest and the tight grip made Gib stop trying to claw his way out and he breathed heavily in his anger and tiredness. He growled as he replied, "I'm not a spy...at least over you two. I was just trying to find a place to get some sleep until I can leave your stupid world of...I don't even know what you creatures are and I don't care! If you don't want me in here so badly, put me outside, you dimwit freak!"

His fangs lengthened and his eyes glowed brighter right before he bit down into Adrian's thumb. The smell and taste of blood wasn't something Gib was fond of, but he wanted to get the point across that he didn't want to be held by some stranger.

---
Adrian flinches at the pain and loosens his grip, but doesn't let the goblin-elf out of his hand just yet.

"Hey!" Adrian snarls, baring his teeth and gripping Gib once more, tighter than last. "I could crush you right now if I wanted to!"

"Adrian, stop!" Akamu's voice snaps the frustrated and tired fox from his instincts. He releases the blonde goblin-elf and lets him rest in his palm. "He said our world."

"What?" Adrian looks at him, confused.

"I mean, he doesn't look Demanian, but he has a tail. His ears can't be any rodent's.

"You realize how improbable that is, Akamu?"

"No it's not. Remember when Serenity and us got stuck in that world with that giant doctor lady?"

"Oh, Faera! Please don't remind me of that!" Adrian pinches the bridge of his nose and shuts his eyes, trying to repress the ill memories. "If that's the case, then fine." Adrian sets his hand on the counter, allowing Gib to step off. There is a moment of tense silence before Akamu asks,

"So, what are you? Your yellow eyes are like... a cat, but you look human."

---
Gib's stern expression slipped away, glad that the green-haired guy was calming down...even if it was over something he didn't quite understand, but oh well. He stepped on the counter and then stood there as he gave Akamu a scrutinizing look. He wasn't sure if he ought to tell this stranger, but he doubted he'd do anything bad with the information. Sighing, he tried to not sound so harsh in his tone, but it was hard with him being tired and irritable. "I'm a goblin-elf. And I'm not always this height...fortunately. Um..."

He scratched the back of his head as he muttered, "Sorry for coming into your home uninvited. I don't know enough about you creatures to trust you..." His glare narrowed once again as he snarled, "-even now, but I'm going to try not to be a pain and just take my leave." He glanced down at his teleporter and then asked, "By the way, how long have you two been asleep?"

 ---
Akamu looks to Adrian who turns and walks over to the door. Opening it, he gazes out into the streets of the twilit streets, the sunlight barely making its way over the buildings down the straight.

"About seven hours, I guess." Adrian shuts the door behind him.

"Adrian, when do we have to meet Jack?"

"Soon," he says, walking back to the kitchen. He looks down at Gib and frowns. "Do whatever you wish, but Akamu and I have some business in the forest. And I'm not one for letting strangers stay in my home."

---
Gib sighs, knowing that it meant that he'd have to wait a little while longer. Being careful as he leapt down to the floor, he grumbled, "Trust me, I don't blame you for thinking like that. I'm just going to go and find some place in the city to hide out for the next two hours." His ears flicked curiously and then he glanced up at him. "Um, what's a good place to hide out?"

---
"A hideout?" Akamu looks up, as if asking his own brain for the answer. "I guess the best place may be Serenity's apartment, but she's at work. Um..."

"The tavern," Adrian cuts off his train of thought. "Safer than most places in Nisvole."

"With Crystal and them?" Akamu looks unsure. "Sure, but you think that's a good idea with Clubs and Pepper running around? I mean Clubs would-"

"How about we leave and just worry about it when we get there. Jack won't wait for us too long, and those Chiér definitely won't wait." Akamu seems like he wants to say something, but discards it. "We've got to meet Jack at the tavern, so we can drop him off and still make it on time." Akamu nods, but a loud roar from his stomach reminds him of something very important.

"Just a sec," he turns to the kitchen to grab the piece of mita meat and the water bottle from under the fridge. "Okay, let's go!" Adrian leads the party, opening the door and taking his friend and the goblin-elf outside; however, compared to the night before, the streets are littered with people down both streets. "Great, another fun walk to the northern district." Adrian sighs as he begins walking down the street, Akamu following with Gib immediately in his shadow.

---
Gib wasn't certain of any of these suggestions, but he figured to try to trust them for now. He followed along Akamu in order to make sure he wasn't seen too well in the shadow while he glanced around at this city in the day time. However, he wasn't too focused on his setting and remained quiet.

---
Akamu follows behind, occasionally looking down to check on Gib, questions still spiraling in the red wolf's head. As they pass the three-way, the streets become more encumbered. As a precaution, Akamu mockingly stumbles, his tail covering the small young man from others' view. Adrian turns around just as Akamu picks up Gib and softly puts him into a jacket pocket.

"Sorry," the brown-haired Demanian says nervously, to both the people that stopped around him and to the goblin-elf he stuffed into his jacket. Standing up and looking at the green fox, Akamu smiles pitifully. Luckily for the goblin-elf,  the trip is not long till they reach the tavern.

Opening the door, Adrian and Akamu step into a dusky room, chairs and tables thinly scattered about. To the left corner before them is a set of double doors and a stairwell and hallway across the way. To the far right rests a long, square wooden bar that hugs the wall of shleved bottles of liquor. Behind it, Persephone grumbles as she cleans the tabletop and the glasses, but her trench coat has been turned in for an apron. Her attention is soon turned to Adrian and Akamu.

"Great," she pushes her glasses back a little onto her nose. "I was hoping to have a good day, but now you two just ruined that thought."

"Good morning to you too, Percy," Adrian smirks.

"Hey!" She snarls, her tail and ears standing up as she glowers at him. "You're asking for it, beast boy!" The green fox huffs at the derogatory name and makes his way to the bar and takes a seat. Persephone, still peeved, turns to another part of the bar, keeping her gaze away from him. "Guess you're here for that contract, huh?"

"Yeah," Adrian looks back to Akamu, but focused on the pocket Gib is in.

---
Gib was sort of freaking out internally when there were more people around, nervous that somehow someone would see him, but there wouldn't be anywhere to run during the daytime. However, the hybrid wasn't a fan of being picked up so suddenly and then placed in a pocket. He was about to snap at Akamu for doing that, but then he was able to let it click soon enough in his mind that it was better to go around this world like so. With a huff, he sat there quietly and calmly, his ears only going up when he heard a woman beyond the flimsy cloth that shielded him.

---
"Well, Jack and Ms. White are in the back. He'll be out soon."

"Good," Adrian turns his attention back to her. "But we need to talk to Crystal."

"Yeah, right," the fennec fox scoffs. "Remember last time?" She looks up and spies him and Akamu walking towards the door in the corner. She shakes her head and chortles lightly. "Never learns," she whispers. Adrian places a hand on the doorknob and slowly opens the door. Quickly, he is hit hard in the head and knocked to the ground onto his back. Akamu steps back, gazing down at his friend and a young girl with blonde hair, her rabbit ears hanging low.

"You didn't knock," she teases, holding a blunt war hammer in her hands. The fox growls and holds his head tightly.

"She's right, Adrian," a coy voice calls out. Akamu and the rabbit turn to the back of the room. Sitting at a desk is Jack and on the other side is a woman in a blue dress with white hair and white wolf ears. She smiles as she stares at the the young child. "You didn't knock. It's quite rude to walk in when someone's in a meeting." Pepper walks happily back to an empty chair at a nearby round table, resting her hammer on her lap.

"You could've waited outside, ya know," Jack smirks, amused by Adrian's anguish as the green-haired Demanian takes time to get on his own feet again. Akamu and "At least you're not late for once."

"We..." Adrian stumbles a little as he walks towards the arctic wolf, but Akamu catches him. "We need to ask a favor."

"Oh?" Crystal raises an eye. "What may it be this time?" Adrian looks to Akamu, who puts a hand into his pocket.

---
Gib wasn't sure what had happened out there, but he could sense that something happened to the green-haired fox guy. Although, his trying to figure out what is going went away at the fingers that he felt on top of his head. He snarled angrily at that and then gave a threatening hiss to remind him to not just grab the goblin-elf. Also, Gib was hoping he wasn't about to grab at him and take him out to show to these strangers.

---
Akamu flinches a little at the hiss and looks up, Crystal and Jack staring at him curiously.  He lowers his gaze.

"I don't think he wants to come out," Akamu whispers. Adrian sighs and turns back to the white-haired woman.

"We've got a friend that needs looking after for an hour," he says.

"A friend?" Crystal asks, still looking at Akamu. "It wouldn't happen to be that thing in your pocket, would it, Akamu?"

"What? You shrink somebody with your magic, wolfy?" Jack chuckles.

"No!" The red wolf quickly exclaims. "I don't even know how to do that."

"Is it a little mouse?!" Pepper's eyes light up, leaping out of her seat, letting the hammer hit the floor hard to run over and look up at the two Demanians. "Can I keep it? Can I keep it?"

"It- he's not a pet, Pepper," Akamu says swiftly, making sure to correct himself before Gib gives his fingers another cut.

"Well," Crystal stands, making her way to the front of the desk. "If he wants a place to stay, then I can keep him safe here. But, I want to actually meet him. I mean, seems only fair that he get a say in this."

---
Gib listened closely, not quite sure he wanted out there with a hyper girl around, but the woman speaking had a point. With a huff, the hybrid grabbed at the edge of the pocket and then pulled himself up to where his upper-body could be seen as his golden gaze narrowed on the white-haired woman. She reminded him of a cat, yet he was hoping that's not what she was similar to. He muttered quietly to Akamu, "You two sure that these people are safe? I think I could just take my chances outside in the streets if she's some type of cat."

---
"He's so small!" Pepper's smiles widens as she spots the small goblin-elf. She jumps up and down, trying to reach him, but Crystal lays a hand on the child's head for a moment to calm her. "Aw, I just want to hug him."

"If you wanna take the breath out of him," Jack says lowly, but turns away and straightens his expression when Crystal eyes him. She turns back to Gib and places a hand on her hip.

"I'm a white wolf, young man," she says. "And I can assure you, you're much safer here than anywhere else in Nisvole." She places her blue-gloved hand out. "Unless you'd rather stay with them and be bait for the Chiér." Her smile is sincere, but her gaze seems to hold something more.

---
Gib recoiled from the little girl, not one to enjoy such loud and excited people. Yet it was a good thing to find out what she was part of as in animal, so his posture became less tense right before he asked, "Will I be able to be by myself...and away from any other people here? Sorry...but then again, I'm not sorry for being one to not like being around others when I look like this."

---
"Of course, but first, I need to get Jack and his boys out of here so they can get to work." She curls a finger, inviting him to hop into her palm. "Once they've left, I can rent you a room upstairs if you wish."

"I don't think he has any money, Crystal," Akamu says.

"Don't worry, I'll accomodate the room from you pay."

"What!? But we-"

"He needs a place to stay, doesn't he? Besides, you can afford it with this being a Chiér bounty."

"Fine, whatever," Adrian says impatiently. "If that's what it takes to leave, then fine by me." Jack can only laugh lightly at Adrian's psuedo eagerness.

---
Gib felt a bit bad that his friends would have to pay for him, yet an idea clicked with him. He carried currency sometimes. He reached into his pocket to a coin sack and then pulled out a gold coin. He brought it close to his bracket upon his wrist and then allowed it to grow a bit until it was nearly the size of him. The goblin-elf could hardly hold the coin as he just let it set there beside him right before he leapt over to Crystal's hand. "Um...is that enough? It's real gold...and sadly that took an hour from my teleporter's charging."

---
Crystal looks at the coin with intrigue and precariously plucks it from his hands. She looks it over, examining its texture. She smiles, her eyes gleaming with interest and places the coin on the table.

"Oh, this will most definitely pay for your room." Carefully, she grabs the back of his shirt and places him gently in the palm of her hand. "And don't worry, we'll make sure you have complete privacy in your lodgings." She looks up to Jack, who rolls his eyes and starts walking to the door.

"C'mon, you two. Those bastards aren't going to cut their own heads off." Without saying a word, Adrian follows the black-haired man; Akamu, however, waves goodbye to Gib and Pepper before walking out the door with his friend. When the door shuts, Crystal looks down at Gib once more.

"You're not from Zurea, are you?" She asks, placing her hand low to the table to allow him to step off for a moment while she opens a draw in her desk.

---
Gib watched as they left, nodding his head at Akamu for giving the gesture before turning his attention back to Crystal. He answered cautiously, "I'm not from this world, but that doesn't mean I'm some ignorant alien or something. So...what was with the exchange of looks a moment ago with that dark-haired guy? Anything I should be concerned about?"

---
"Observant. I like that," she pulls a ring of keys out of her desk, shuffling through the keys. "Well, as you may have guessed, I am in charge of this establishment. However, it is not my main source of income. No, my money comes from contracts for treasures, whereas Jack is in charge of hunting anything that has a bounty on its head." At last, she comes across a key that catches her eye. She shows it to him before using it to unlock another drawer. Sliding it open, she takes the golden coin he gave her and drops it in, it clinking with what sounded to be more coins. She locks it once more and looks up, taking the keys with her. "And unworldly treasures are quite valuable."

---
Gib didn't like the sound of that. At all. He stepped back warily from her as he muttered, "Well, I don't have anything from another world on me...that would be valuable to you so mind yourself, lady. That gold is all you get from me and that's more than fair." Carefully, he slipped his bracket off of his wrist and then slid it into his pocket. Leaping off of the desk to the floor, he sighed, "I'll just take the key and tell me the room and then I'll leave you alone."

---
Crystal laughs and shakes her head.  "I'm sorry, I think you misunderstood. I don't want to take anything from you. I was proposing you could be one of my collectors, but I guess you won't be coming back to Demania in the near future. I can tell you truthfully that you're not the first 'other-worlder' to step into my place. At least you're much less... enthusiastic than he is."

"You mean that man with the funny voice, mommy?" Pepper giggles. "I liked his hat. Can I get one like it? Please?"

"Later, child. First, our guest needs to find his room." Crystal looks at the keyring again, looking at the keys with numbers on them.

"Ooh! Can I take him?!" The rabbit Demanian's eyes brighten and widen with potential joy.

"No, Pepper. I'm afraid you'd break him."

"No I wouldn't!" she pouts as Crystal continues to sort through her keys as she walks to the door. Opening it, she calls out,

"Miss Hart!" Immediately, the sound of quick-paced boots make their way to the door.

"Y- yes, Miss White?" Persephone stands attentive, far different than how she was when talking to Akamu and Adrian.

"Take our guest to his room please." She hands Persephone a key with the numbers 213 engraved on the bow of it. Confused when the key is placed in her palm, she looks about the room.

"Guest... Miss White?" Crystal turns and looks to the ground, Persephone's gaze quickly following and focusing on Gib.

"Persephone will take you to your room with no problems at all. Right, Miss Hart?"

"I... sure." She seems stooped, perplexed by the goblin-elf's size.

"What was that?" The air about Crystal seems to chill for a moment, awakening Persephone from her trance.

"Y- yes, ma'am, Miss White! Th- this way, sir!" She holds the door open, waiting for Gib.
